Mistaken Identities & Mayhem: The Hilarious Chaos of Twelfth Night

Twelfth Night: a smart and fabulous comedy opens TFT’s Bard at the Barn season

Imagine, if you will, a band of travelling actors have come to Titchfield to put on Twelfth Night. We meet them as they arrive and allocate the parts. And that is just the beginning of the mad confusion… join us at the Great Barn for the opening play in Titchfield Festival Theatre’s Bard at the Barn summer season. Performs on stage May 28 – June 6.

Chris Blatch-Gainey is director of Twelfth Night:

“Twelfth Night really is a good giggle with a wealth of comic characters. So, directing this allows for a broad spectrum of acting on the stage, which is what I absolutely love. The Barn is a fabulous setting, so no real set is required.

“The rough era is early 1800’s with a modern touch. We see a travelling company arriving on stage, characters are chosen, and farcical situations ensue. TFT’s production of Twelfth Night will be great fun!   I’m hoping it will take away the stuffiness that some people hold over the works of Shakespeare. It is also designed to be short and punchy, but still keep the Bard’s words and ideas intact….and essentially for the audience to have a good laugh!”

Twelfth Night performs in the Great Barn, Titchfield from 28 May – 6 June 2024. For more information including booking tickets please go to http://titchfieldfestivaltheatre.com/  or contact our Box Office on 0333 666 3366.
